I’m gonna take a wild guess here that the grown up on the left is Daddy, some kind of a preacher man, and this storytelling is that little doll’s sincerest form of flattery. I’m also thinking the 3 kids behind her belong to him as well, and that poor pre-teen is the one I identify with most. Guess I can’t just take this one at face value; I gotta dig into the family psychology. It’s what former pks, who don’t become preachers themselves, do.
Janna, I’m picking up what you’re putting down. I, too, suspected that those kids in the back were siblings…it’s the only explanation for why they seem so unimpressed.
