If you’ve read The Secret of the Swamp King, you know all about feechiesings. Apparently the shoe company Puma has been sponsoring something very much like feechiesings throughout Europe and the British Isles. Kind of like “Up With People,” only with soccer hooligans. In the video below, our feechie friends sing,
You bring the sunshine,
I’ll bring the good times.
Just add the laughter–
It’s happy ever after.
I don’t know about you,
But that sounds good to me.
Sounds good to me, too. With their combination of fun-loving energy and open hostility, these guys show that the feechie spirit lives even in quaint English villages. Up with people!
I first ran across this phenomenon over at the blog of Mark Lamberti. You can see some British he-feechies singing a sweet little love song called “Truly Madly Deeply” here.
Have you seen the movie Green Street Hooligans?
Allegedly my uncle was in Up With People at the same time as Glenn Close. Allegedly.
I don’t think they sang anything like this. Or they at least finished their drinks before hitting the stage rather than taking the glasses out there with them.
Wait a minute, Aaron. You’ve been frequenting this blog for nigh unto six months, and this is the first time you’ve mentioned that you had an uncle in Up with People? I know there are amusing anecdotes related to this fact. Let’s hear them. If you need your own guest post, we can probably work something out.
Canaan Bound, I don’t know anything about Green Street Hooligans.
I’m the guy in the back row.
I love this. So much. I’m not really sure why.
Gina, your comment is the 900th on jonathan-rogers.com (not counting the spammers). I thought you would want to know.
