January’s ice storm created some challenges to the building of the Wedding Garden. Cleanup threw us off an already tight schedule, and the ice bent over the young trees, especially those of the Elm Allée, to an extent that we weren’t sure they would recover from. Thankfully we were behind schedule on the building of the greenhouse. If we had assembled it MLK Weekend as we had planned, it would have been smashed by fallen limbs a week later. In the spirit of lemonade-from-lemons, we collected fallen cedar from the neighborhood and built this fence and arbor to create some separation between the Wedding Garden and the work area beyond it.
