The wedding guests sat in chairs situated in the open space between the Deer Bed and the Altar Bed. The wedding ceremony itself took place in front of the Altar Bed (hence the name). The Altar Bed is anchored by Snowcicle oakleaf hydrangeas, hollyhocks, and three Stewartia trees. Gaura provides near-constant movement in the Altar Bed. Even when there is no breeze, bees bounce up and down like bungee jumpers on the ends of the wands.
